Track Meet Report

Poor Zach, he has had a couple of bad meets. on 3/25 he ran the 2 mile, and 4x800. He really dislikes both of these events. I loved the 800, but I understand his feelings about the 2 mile. You just go around and around. It isn't like cross country where you have a fun course to run. I use to get so bored! Anyway, he still wasn't feeling himself after going to Florida and eating a ton of junk. He really felt it. I don't even know his times, because they haven't been posted. I do know his school didn't win. The girls did, but the boys didn't. Then on 3/28 he went to the Las Vegas Track Classic. He was suppose to run the mile, and he was excited. It is his best event. So he went to the meet and found out that he was signed up to run with the Freshmen. They tried to correct it, but it didn't get changed. So, his coach went up to him and told him to go and run. He wasn't warmed up or anything! He went out there cold. His time was 5:41. He was so disappointed. Hopefully this week will be better. This picture is from his first meet. He is the second runner in the picture.

Easter

This is how we spent our Easter holiday. It was very quiet, which was nice. I think we are all still recovering from Spring Break. We got up and the kids were excited to see what was in their baskets. The older boys asked the Easter Bunny not to bring them a basket, but bring them guitar hero. As you can tell, they got their wish. (O.K., I am good at DDR, but I am horrible at Guitar Hero. When the guys go camping this weekend, I am practising!) Then we hunted for Easter eggs! After that we got ready for church. Church was awesome! We had the best speakers. It was so good. Then we came home and had a traditional Easter dinner! Not very exciting, but it was perfect for us. The other night I was at dance with Aubrey talking to a friend of mine who has a son getting ready to serve a mission. She was telling her husband that they really needed to landscape their backyard, but her husband wanted to take a family trip before their son left for his mission. He told her, "We only have small moment with our children all together, lets take a trip. The backyard can wait. Our family will remember this forever." It is so true. As Zachery gets closer to finishing high school, I feel like my small moment with all of my children together is coming to an end. I am cherishing every moment with them. Don't get me wrong, I look forward to seeing where life will take my children, but I am enjoying this time with them. It was a great holiday! We had fun.

Disney World

We were given a wonderful gift this year. We were given a trip to Disney World. Yes, we were very blessed. Well, we went for spring break and let me tell you we had a blast. The weather was wonderful, we ate a ton of food, our hotel was perfect, we spent time with family, and had a ton of fun. We did those parks!! We left nothing behind. Everything was perfect. So enjoy some of our pictures. I didn't post all of them, that would take forever. I think these pictures say it all.

Note: I really shouldn't type these things while the kids are awake and before a Board of Review! The phone has been ringing off the hook. I am sure I made a ton of typos!

Survivor Week 6 & 7

We just spent some time catching up on our Survivor show. Poor Don lost Johnathan (due to an infection) and Chet (Don says he lost him because he is a wimp, but he had an infection too and gave up.) in one show. I lost Tracy in the next. On top of this, UCONN is out of the tournament! Not a good day for us. We still have the girls!!!

Let The Madness Begin!

Who is my husband? Where did he go? Oh yeah, it is March Madness, Road to the Final Four, The Big Dance! We came in from our vacation yesterday and where was my husband? He was on the computer getting the NCAA tournament brackets for the boys and girls! Then he was in the den watching the tournament. The last time I saw him he was still watching the tournament! I don't mind, I enjoy basketball too. This is one of Don's favorite time of the year! Go UCONN!

Track Meet Report

Zach had his first track meet on March 12. He did really good. He ran the 1600 and did his personal best getting a time of 5:18.2, and he ran the 800 and got a time of 2:30. He was not pleased with his 800 time. He said that he went all out with the 1600 and just lost it in the 800. Unfortunately his school lost the track meet.

Family Home Evening

For family home evening this week we invited a family in our ward to come over and have a lesson then color Easter eggs. Zachery gave the lesson on the true meaning of Easter. He did a great job. Then we colored eggs. The kids did a great job and they were so creative. They were a little silly, but we love that!

Austin's Movie Review

From Austin:
10,000 BC was a great movie. But would not be a great movie for little children. It involves a lot of different languages and has some very scary characters in the movie. It does not have the best story. It is mainly an action movie. It has some awesome scenes of animals and cities. Any adult that would want to see this movie I would highly recommend it. Out of 5 stars I would rate it 6.
Mom's Note: We don't normally go to a ton of movies. We won some tickets, the kids went with friends, and we only went to one movie as a family. We do other things!

Aubrey's Glasses

We received a letter from the school that Aubrey needed to go to an eye doctor to have her eye's checked. She was having problems seeing far away. So we took her to the eye doctor. You know it is bad when she can't read any of the lines of letters. Then they get to the big huge "E" at the top of the chart and she says, "Oh, I can see that!" We asked Aubrey why didn't she tell us she couldn't see. She told us that she thought everyone saw things blurry! So, now she has glasses! They look pretty good! Her doctor told us that she has my eyes, but Don's vision!

Zach's Driving!

Many of you read the blog when Zachery got his library card and permit. Well, that same day he tried out his library card and checked out a book he needed for school. (No more using Mom and Dad's card.) Then Dad took him for his first driving lesson. When he drove the family to church the next day, I just sat in the back and closed my eyes! He is getting better and better, but I still think this is stressful for me!

Ian's Movie Review

Hi, this is Ian. My mom is helping me type this. Once again, mom won tickets to an advance screening. Dad and I went to see "Horton Hears a Who". It was very funny and it was good. My favorite character is a dog who is like a puffer dude. He puffs up when he is scared. I think that is so funny. Horton is an elephant who finds a speck that the Whos live on. The Whos have a big family. The Whos had a ton of sisters and one brother. The elephant can communicate with the Whos. I think kids should go and see this movie. I want to buy it. It was a fun day with Dad.

Honor Roll

Austin made the A/B honor roll at school. We are so proud of him. We know he works really hard at school. Now the third quarter is almost over, so I don't really know how long Austin had this certificate for the 2nd quarter. That is how he is. One day he just gave me this certificate and said, "Hey, they gave me this at school. I have no idea why." I had to explain to him that this is a good thing. He just said, "Oh." and went to go play his guitar.

Survivor Week 5

This week Austin lost Joel. We had to laugh at Joel's reaction. It was pretty funny.

Hidden Mickeys?

Everyone has been asking me about the hidden Mickeys. Yes, there are hidden Mickeys at Disneyland and Disney World. Aunt Sarah has Aubrey hooked. She is now on a quest to find the hidden Mickeys. I even found her this book on it. I guess when they were building the parks, rides, hotels, and stores the builders built in hidden Mickeys. They are hard to find, but they are there! So now there will be one more thing Aubrey will be looking for in Disney World.

Aubrey's Dad Date

Hi, this is Aubrey. Dad had to go to Disneyland this weekend with the cheerleaders from his school. They had a competition. So, Dad's principal said that he could take me along. I was surprised when Dad came home and told me that he had to go and be the administrator on the trip and he was going to take me. It was very crowded this weekend, but we still got on some rides. We went on Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, the new Nemo ride, Pirates of the Caribbean (Redone), the Matterhorn, Haunted Mansion, and we got to see fireworks and a parade. We also got our favorite thing to eat, soup with bread bowls. We stayed up till 11:30 pm. Our hotel was nice. The next morning Aunt Sarah came with us. We found two hidden Mickeys. We went to California Adventure. We went on Monster's Inc, Soaring, Screaming, Orange, Bear Rapids, and then we went in the Studio place. I also went to the Cheerleading competition. We ate popcorn, and we went to my favorite Italian restaurant out of the park. It was a fun weekend to spend time with Dad.
