Movie!

We had a family movie day! The younger kids wanted to see this last week when it opened, but I had them wait because I knew Don wanted to see it with the family! (He was at encampment!) All I can say is that we loved it!!!!!! It was great. My friends told me that it was an emotional movie to watch, especially if you just dropped a kid off at college. O.k, I have to agree. I did shed some tears. Next week, Aubrey has a big movie day!!! Oh yeah, you know what I am talking about. Don recently sat down and watched "New Moon" with Aubrey. Then he totally freaked her out by telling her that he is "Team Jacob!" She couldn't believe it! This is what I love about Don. He could care less about vampires and werewolves, but he will stop and spend some time with his daughter, taking an interest in what she loves!

Pack Meeting

Tonight was pack meeting. Ian received his wolf badge. He was so excited to get that badge. He has really worked hard on it!
Tonight his den had to do the skit.
Members of the Wolf Den.
He also helped with the flag!
When you become a wolf, you have to wear a tail until you do a good deed! The older boys are so glad that wasn't a tradition when they were in cub scouts. I don't think Ian is too thrilled with it either! Let's just say, he immediately did a good deed and did not leave with that tail!
Pinning the Mother's pin on Mom!
Ian loves Cub Scouts!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to the most wonderful father!!!! Don is amazing. Just this week you can tell how much he loves his kids and wants to spend time with them. He just spent a whole week at the Stake Encampment and Camp Helaman. He loves being with his kids and the rest of the boys in the Stake. Then he came home and went off to a dance recital, when I know he needed some sleep. The next morning (Father's Day) he played, "How well do your know your Dad?" game (Like the Newly Wed game.) in sharing time with Ian. It was so cute. Then he let the kids in Primary hit his head with foam noodles during singing time. This is just a little example of how great he is. There are many more! For Father's Day, we had steak, cheesy potatoes, and carrots. Then for dessert he got a strawberry pie and a banana cream / strawberry pie. He was in heaven.
He got a big screen t.v. about a month ago, the kids also got him a gift card to Game Stop. Oh no, you know what that means.
This is their serious pose.

Recital Is Over!

Last night was the recital. We have to get there so early to get good seats. Austin got a little bored and grabbed my camera. Oh yeah, I have a ton of these pictures on my camera.

He did take a picture of our good friend Rachel. She danced earlier in the day and Aubrey went to her recital. She is such a good friend. She came to Aubrey's recital at night.
Zach and his friend Heidi!
What a proud Dad. He has been camping all week with the Stake. I am sure he was about ready to drop. He didn't even think about it and came home, unpacked, showered, and ran off to recital! He wasn't the only dad there that was at the encampment. What good Dads! Don loves his little dancer, and tonight she really shined!

Dress Rehearsal!

I just want my children's grandparents to know, that I truly love them. You know I do, because it took me FOREVER to upload these videos!!!!!! (I am really not good with the computer, and it took me a while to make everything work! This is the best I can do!) I don't want them to miss anything, so this is what I do for them! Now remember, when viewing these videos, this is dress rehearsal. That means there are mistakes and crazy lighting! Aubrey danced on a recreational team this year. We couldn't be more pleased. She love it and her dancing really improved! It was a great year. This is the team in their "Footloose" costumes. They did really good with this number and earned their highest award with it.

This was "Jenny". Aubrey didn't like the costume, but she loved the number. They did really well with this one too.
Oh, they get sassy!

This was their ballet, "20's Nostalgia". She loves ballet, and she loved this costume.
The owner of the studio had never seen this routine until the dress rehearsal. Well, she wasn't pleased with it. I guess I should say, she wasn't pleased with how the girls did it. So they got called to the studio last night at 9:00 pm for a hour for rehearsal. Aubrey said she took her criticism and worked hard. (She looks at the floor too much. At least it wasn't technical.) This is a picture of them getting kind of chewed out. I am impressed that after they were chewed out, they did better, and the owner of the studio ended on a positive note. She told them that she knows ballet is hard and they will get it. She also told them that if they are going to be in the Saturday night show, she expects more from them.
There are some smiles!

Graduation, Class of 2010

I don't even know how to start this. What do you say? Sure you think about this day, like when they go to their first day of kindergarten or when they start high school, but it kind of sneaks up on you. Suddenly, you are sitting, watching your oldest graduate! I was so excited for him, and I could tell he wanted to get this done. Zachery has worked hard, we are so proud of him and everything he has achieved so far. Now he will be off to bigger and better things!

It is a bad picture, but this is as good as it gets. Here Zach is getting his diploma. Here is the neat thing about this moment. The man giving the diploma to Zach worked with Don years ago as an Assistant Principal at the high school that he taught at. He was also my math professor. As he moved up the ranks in the school district, he also helped Don get his first job as a Dean. Mr. D, has always been kind to us. I wonder if he recognized the name. There aren't too many Brasier's around.

I want everyone to know that I didn't cry!!!!! That's right, I didn't. I almost did. Even though Zach was in one of the first groups to walk in, he was the last to leave. I could see him standing up in the front row. Then is looked at me and point to me, o.k., I almost lost it then!
O.k, what blog post would be complete without a picture of Scott and Zach together! This is the most serious picture we could get of these guys this night! Scott gave a wonderful speech! He is a great kid. We will miss him when he goes to college! I couldn't of picked a better friend for my son. Many people have commented to me over the past couple of weeks that they wish they could have had a friendship like Zach and Scott's in high school! It is a wonderful thing and a huge blessing! I don't doubt that they may go their different directions and do different things, but they will always keep in touch.
We can't say enough wonderful things about the Albrights. We love them.
Before graduation Zachery received some of his gifts. He loved the Ramen bowl that Austin gave him!

Happy Birthday Aubrey!

It was Aubrey's birthday. I can't believe she is 12 years old. Where did the time go? I feel like I am saying that a lot lately. Aubrey is so excited to turn 12. Now she is out of Primary and in Young Women's. She is even going to girls camp this year. She is so excited. It was a special birthday. Her cousins and grandparents were down here for Zach's graduation, so she got to celebrate with her family. That is a special treat, because we live so far away from all of our family.

She wanted Retro Bakery cupcakes for her birthday. Of course her grandparents indulged her and got her some. Look how wonderful they are.

She got many wonderful gifts. She got her tickets to see Wicked. Then Ian's teacher got her this wonderful pop-up book that is all about "Wicked". She loved it. It is so wonderful.

Then her brothers got her a new outfit. She really like that.
Her brothers and her wonderful cousins.
