My Funny Kids

I remember years ago, when I took the kids to get portraits and they dressed in their new outfit only meant for church. Yes, they wore church clothes and they took formal portraits. Well things have changed! Now they wear what they want and beg to do the poses they want. These are two of the poses that Aubrey and Zachery wanted to do. I guess I should be happy that they still let me get portraits taken of them! They also begged me to put these pictures on the blog, so here they are.

Zach's Existential Movie Reviews

Well guys this has been a great summer for the movies so far. As far as I'm concerned there hasn't been really any huge flops that I've seen. The movies so far have been exciting, hilarious, and entertaining. Get Smart is no exception. First of all, Get Smart had already scored points in my book by casting Steve Carrell. For those of us who watch The Office, we know that Steve Carrell is hilarious. He delivers his signature brand of witty one liners and awkward situations perfectly in this movie. Get Smart is possibly the most quotable movie of the summer and probably of the year. Besides Steve Carrell the cast is exceptional, featuring Anne Hathaway, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and Alan Akin. All these actors work perfectly together. Possibly the only problem with this movie is its few innuendos. Other than this, it is a hilarious movie and yet another one worthy of an exceptional 10/10 rating.
No pun intended,
Zach

Pioneer Trek-Lone Mountain Stake

So I went on the pioneer trek for our stake last week. It was a great experience and I really gained an appreciation for what the pioneers did. Let me tell you, pulling a handcart isn't exactly the easiest thing to do. However, it was a blast. The scenery was beautiful and it was really cool to hang out with all my friends and have a spiritual experience together. I'm glad that I have had such a church related summer so far. Trek was great!

Austin's Awesome Movie Review

This Thursday me and my dad saw "The Hulk". This version was way better than the other one that they made. It focused more on what David Banner, the main character was going through. It actually had a story instead of just beating up on people. The scenes where he was the Hulk were awesome. This movie was more of a movie for the older members of the family. Because there is only a couple funny parts, there's a lot of talking instead of actions, and the hulk fights a creature that is a little bit scary. If you are a Hulk fan like me, this was a awesome movie.

*Note from Mom: I just want to let everyone know, that Austin prepared for this movie by watching a marathon of the old Hulk T.V. show. He knew his subject matter!

Check out Zach at EFY!

Here are some pictures from EFY. Me, Scott and Matt went to the University of Utah and had a great time. These are pictures of the people we hung out with for a week. Sorry, their a little dark, but you can get the general idea. I learned so much about the gospel and had a great time. We did classes, had dances, played soccer, did human dominoes, sang lots of songs and met all sorts of LDS youth. I was really glad I had the opportunity.

Bunker Dance Recital

Hi! This is Aubrey. Of course you know these are my dance recital pictures. It was very nerve racking. My jazz dance was ''All For One''. I was especially nervous about the beach ball I had to catch. If I hadn't step back and turned my body a little I wouldn't have catched it. My ballet dance was ''Winter Dream''. I did fine. If you are wondering what backstage is like it's CRAZY! There's 4 levels full dancers. If you wonder what the stage is like, it's BRIGHT and slippery. I liked my jazz costume a little. I LOVED my ballet costume. It was poofey. [It looked like I had a big butt.] Grandma and Grandpa came to watch me. At the end I got beautiful red roses. My friends [Allie and Rachel] had there dance at noon. So when I was waiting in line I took a pictures with them. After my dance recital my family went to BJ's. There was really good pizza and a AWESOME giant cookie with ice cream on top.[Don't know name of it.] Then my family went swimming with the Albright's. All my make-up, sparkles, and curls went away.

Dance Pictures

These are the professional shots of Aubrey's dance class. I will post pictures of her dancing tomorrow after the recital. The pictures of her with the beach ball are pictures of her jazz routine. She danced to High School Musical's "All For One." (See playlist) Then her ballet routine was to Vivaldi's "Winter." The rest of her ballet pictures were ruined so we have to retake them. It's a long story. About 80 other families had the same thing happen. We have been very pleased with her classes this year and she learned a ton. We have seen a huge improvement in her tap. We can't wait until tomorrow's recital. I have 4 extra tickets for the 3:00 pm show. Let me know if you want to go.

Aubrey's Birthday

June 8 at 3:56 p.m. Aubrey turned 10 years old. She wanted peanut butter ice cream pie for her birthday cake. She had a good time going to church and them coming home to have dinner, dessert, and open gifts! You can tell this week that she is growing up. We cleaned out her room (Something I do with the kids when school is out.) and she decided to get rid of her Barbies! I thought I was going to pass out. She did keep all of her collector Barbies that are on display in her room. They are still up, but the ones she played with are gone. It is kind of funny, she saved her Disney Princess snow globes, but got rid of the Disney Princess picture frame (in storage). Now her room has a High School Musical poster and a Nick Jonas poster. Times are changing!
Here is Aubrey opening up her gifts! Look at that concentration.

She got an American Idol Karaoke Game! We love it. She loves that the judges tell you how they think you did! She has been wanting a game for the X-Box 360, so this made her day!

She also wanted flip-flops! Very random, don't ask.

This is her trying out her new game. She had a great birthday and she has been shopping ever since spending her birthday money! Yes, I have been going to Justice and Limited Too for two days now!

Happy Birthday Aubrey!

Aubrey is out of the house right now, so I took the opportunity to do her birthday slide show. I can't believe she is 10 years old tomorrow. Where does the time go? I remember when I found out we were having a girl. I was in shock. I really thought I would be the mother of all boys. I kept telling the technician to check and really make sure. Don had tears in his eyes and told me her name was going to be Aubrey Frances (Frances after my Grandfather.) My friends gave me a huge baby shower, and everything was pink! Oh what anxiety I had, I kept telling everyone to hold on to the receipts because they might be wrong. It might be a boy! Well, it was a girl and what a blessing she has been to our home. We just love her. She is so sweet and kind, but tough too. She can camp and hike with the best of them. Aubrey loves to dress up and be girly, but she will play video games and soccer with the boys too. Aubrey loves everyone and wants to be a friend to everyone! She is a good girl! We love you Aubrey, Happy Birthday!

High School Musical

One night I got a call from my friend Heather and she told me that she could get High School Musical tickets before they went on sale to the public. So, we decided to get Aubrey some tickets and give them to her to celebrate her birthday. This was months ago. So for a couple of months we kept it quiet that we were going to see this show. Some of her friends knew about it, but they even kept it from Aubrey. Then her friend Ashton told her that she knew what they were doing to celebrate Aubrey's birthday, but she still didn't tell Aubrey what it was! Well, last night we told her that she had to look special and wear her High School Musical shirt. She got all ready and then I put a sash on her that said, "Birthday Girl." She still had no clue. Don finally sat her down and told her "Happy Birthday, you are going to the High School Musical show with your friends." It took a minute, then the excitement set in! So we all got together and took the girls down to the Planet Hollywood Casino to see the show! These are the cutest girls. They are just wonderful. They just loved the show. Aubrey was surprised and she really liked the show. It was a fun night. Thanks to Heather, our seats were awesome. (O.k., my children honestly believe that Heather can hook them up with anything. Show tickets, DVD's, whatever!) We were only 8 rows back from the stage!!! Aubrey had a blast!
These are the girls! What cute friends they are! Check out their High School Musical shirts. Yah, their Mom's know how to dress for a show!!!!

Zach's Amazing Movie Reviews

So today I went and saw Kung Fu Panda. This was a pretty darn fun movie. The panda Po is one of my favorite Jack Black characters ever. This overweight panda's quirks and weaknesses make him approachable for everybody. Black's personality is imbued in this character and his lines are delivered with absolute perfection at the right times. Also, Dreamworks CGI has outdone itself this time. The beautiful Chinese scenery and quick action sequences run together and look absolutely life like. As if this wasn't good enough, the movie also has a good little moral embedded in it. This is a gem of CGI cartoons and children's movies. Go see it, its amazing. Ladies and gents this is my first 10/10 review
As Always,
Zach

Kindergarten Celebration!

I know people don't like these slide shows, but today every time I tried to blog these pictures, something went wrong so this is it. This is Ian's Kindergarten Celebration. Yes, our last kindergarten aged child. He has moved on to first grade. We didn't think he would make it. When he got up this morning he was still sick, but at 8:30 am he started jumping around and feeling great. He still isn't 100%, but he is better. When I got to the school, I informed the teacher what was going on, and I sat in the front row to get him out of there quick if he started to get sick. He did great. Those kindergarten teachers are awesome and out did themselves this year! The songs were so cute. The best part is when they tried to wink! Ian did his part perfectly. They also asked the kids what they wanted to be when they grew up, Ian said a police man. They also had us view a slide show of the kids and played the song, "Let Them Be Little" by Lone Star. (I think that is right.) I love the pose with his diploma. Where does he get that from? Does it look familiar? Hmmm, looks a little like Zach!?! My goodness.

Sick Boy!

Can you tell I am always playing with my new camera? This is the face of a little boy with the stomach flu! He is just so cute. We stayed home today from church and watched Star Wars Episode 2. What a treat! Hopefully he will feel good tomorrow. He has his Kindergarten Celebration.

Happy Birthday!

Yes it is my birthday. I really didn't want to blog about it, but my children made me. I feel like I have been celebrating all month long. In May I went and saw Wicked. (See old post.) Then this weekend I went out to dinner at Maggianos. I have read about this restaurant on another blog and I have been wanting to try it. Lisa, it is good! They even have an accordion player who plays music. Now, many of you don't know that Don plays the accordion. (Yes, it is true.) So after talking to this man at the restaurant, he gave Don his card and told him to come and "jam" with him on Tuesday nights. Don and I got a good laugh out of that! I guess there is a group of accordion players that love to get together and "jam". Then today, I ended up staying home from church with a sick child. Don had to lead the music in Primary, so I stayed home with Ian. Don did get me a chocolate bundt cake from "Nothing Bundt Cakes". I love those cakes!!!! It was a fun birthday.

So here I am blowing out the candles on my yummy cake!!!
