Spring Break Is Over!

For Spring Break we just kind of hung out.  The kids spent time with their friends and we had fun.  We went to movies and did a lot of family things.  Of course the kids got their Easter candy from their grandparents.  They love that!
Aubrey and I went to the movies and shopping.  It was fun hanging out with her.  I am cherishing every moment with her.  She is a goofy girl!
Don worked everyday in our yard.  He worked so hard and it looks beautiful.  I am sure he is glad he is done with that.
Aubrey and I went to the General Women's Conference.  We went to dinner first and then headed to the conference.  It was so good!  I loved it.  It makes me sad that this might be the last time I go with her.  She will be in college for the next one!
We also went to the temple with the kids.  Actually Aubrey went twice to the temple.  She went once with her friends. That always makes me happy to see them go off to the temple!  It was good to be with the kids!

It was a quiet spring break, but a good one.  I felt very relaxed and happy to be with my family!

Happy Easter!

It is so different having Easter with two teenagers at home.  First off, they go to bed really late the night before.  This means Don stays up late to hide the eggs and set out the baskets.  Yes, I said Don!  I was in bed, dead to the world.  Then the kids sleep in in the morning.  Don had to go and wake THEM up!!!  Yes, it was getting late and we had to get ready for church!  Also, Ian asked for money to download a lacrosse game and Aubrey asked for a new straightener.  Don even got a new flag for his office. He loved that.

Then the hunt was on.  In the last couple of years the kids have kind of gotten lazy when it comes to finding their eggs.  Poor Ian would go around and gather all the eggs, because all of the candy goes in one bowl, so what's the difference?  Well, this year we decided to hide money in the some of the eggs.  It was about $50.00 all together.  Now we didn't tell the kids about it.  We thought Ian would go out and get all the eggs, and he would get the money.  Then next year Aubrey would be more into it and even the boys if they came down for Easter.  Well, Ian was into it and got most of the eggs.  Aubrey picked up a few here and there.  Then our plan went wrong.  As the kids opened their eggs, Aubrey got over $30.00 and Ian got a little over $10.00. Then Ian was mad.  Every year he collects the most eggs and this year when there is money involved, he didn't get the most money!  I don't blame him for being mad!  Now it's on!!!  I think this has changed the Easter Egg hunt in the family.  Actually, Ian is looking forward to next year because he might be the only one home!!!  All the candy and money for him!

Easter clothes are fun!!!  Aubrey got two dresses for Easter this year because this one was $10.00 on the clearance rack at Forever 21!  She loves it.  Of course the kids LOVE taking Easter pictures!!!

We had a great Easter.  After church we had a friend from our ward come and have dinner with us.  It was nice to relax and have dinner.  It was a good holiday!

Update On Ian's Little Growth

We got the lab results back for Ian's growth and it is what the doctor said it was.  It was overactive capillaries.  Hopefully it will not come back!

Happy Easter!

"Our Savior lived again. The most glorious, comforting, and reasuring of all events of human history had taken place - The victory over death."
~Thomas S. Monson
I know this to be true. Because of His Atoning Sacrifice and because of His resurrection, I know one day I can be with Him again and be with my love ones who have passed on. Happy Easter!

Ian's Little Growth!

One day in church we noticed a little pin prick behind Ian's ear.  Then it started to grow into what looked like a tumor.  We tried to take care of it using Oregano oil, but it wasn't working very good.  It was causing swelling and scabbing.  It was getting worse.  After being ripped off in Disneyland, we decided to let it heal and get him into the doctors.  Our doctor sent him to a dermatologist and he told us that it was an overproduction of capillaries.  Strange right?  The doctor said it was normal and it happens.  We still asked him to send it to the lab just to be sure.  So, today, the doctor removed it.  It honestly took like two minutes!  I am not exaggerating.  They don't think it will come back.  Ian is glad it is gone.  The shot to numb it was the worse!!  Now I can go and get Ian's hair cut!  He didn't want me to cut it because his hair was covering it up!

Easter Traditions

We do this every year.  Well, last year we didn't because we were in Mexico.  This year we made up for it.  We got together with the Albrights to dye Easter Eggs.  We had a fun time.  It was so nice to just spend time together and just visit.  We are starting to dwindle in numbers, but it is still nice to get along and do this!

BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre Comes to Vegas

Aubrey came home the other day and told me that the BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre is going to be in town at LVA.  She really wanted to go.  So I asked her if she was just going to go with her friends, and she said, "Sure, and you too!"  Oh ok.  I was excited that she still wants me to go with her to things like this.  So I took Rachel and Aubrey down to LVA.  That is a high school for the arts.  It is in a pretty rough part of town.  Like really!!  Right down by Fremont Street.  We got there early, so the girls wanted to go to some of the cool walls around that area of town and take some pictures.  I think Aubrey was checking out some places for her senior pictures!

The show was amazing.  Aubrey really wanted to see this because she went to the contemporary camp at BYU.  Some of these dancers taught her at the camp and were her counselors.  It is an amazing show. (BYU Contemporary Dance Theatre presents its new show, Viva!, which celebrates life and dance. The show invites the audience to discover the importance of coming to know themselves and those around them. Both fun and heartfelt, Viva! inspires through expressive dance, uplifting music, and a vibrant atmosphere.)  Aubrey's old studio Bunker performed too. It was great to see them there and to see the owner. It was fun to see them.  Here is what I noticed.  Bunker is wonderful and amazing, but the BYU Company had something more.  It was uplifting. Even the serious dances.  You can tell that when you choreograph a piece and are prayerful about it, it comes through the dance. You can feel the peace, and the message in a clear way.  That is not to say that Bunker is not good.  They are amazing!!!  It is just a different feel. I loved it.  Then we went to Sprinkles to get cupcake Sundaes!  It was a great night.  I was grateful to go and be with these girls.  Nothing like singing loud in the car to Taylor Swift and laughing with these two. They are amazing!
