Beach Weekend!

All Don wanted for his birthday was a weekend at the beach.  All Aubrey wanted was one more adventure with Rachel!  So it all worked out and we found a weekend free and we went to the beach.  It has been a crazy summer, so for us to find a free weekend was amazing and we had to take advantage of it.  We headed down to Huntington Beach.  We love that beach.  We love going to the beach.  I feel like we need it every year.  Hopefully, Aubrey and Rachel had a wonderful time.  I know Don did.  He can stay in the ocean from morning to night.  It was a perfect weekend to go to the beach!  Unfortunately I forgot my good camera, so this is all I had!  I had to use my iphone!

The next day we convinced Don to take the kids to Hollywood.  We went years ago, but these two were so small they didn't remember it. I don't really like Hollywood, but everyone has to see it once, right?  We just went to walk around a bit. It was fun to spend a few minutes in Hollywood.  Then we went home.  Unfortunately we were stuck in a huge traffic jam because of a bad accident.  It took forever to get home!

I think the kids enjoyed their beach day, and when I say kids, I am including Don!!  He loves the beach!

Homemade Swig Cookies

When we were in Provo, we went to Swig.  Aubrey loves that place and swears by it.  It was ok.  I am not a soda fan, so the drinks didn't get me all excited.  I do love cookies, and their cookies were amazing. I am all about cookies.  I think I do pretty good making them too.  Only once Zach told me that his friend's mother's cookies were "Choice"!  (Really?)  Now, as I sat there eating cookies you know that I started to think, "I can make these!"  Surely there has to be a recipe on Pinterest.  After much research I found a recipe that I thought would work.  I made them and then waited for Aubrey to come home from work to try one.  She is the Swig expert of our family.  Well, as you can tell from the picture.  She was pleased!!!  I guess I did pretty good! I used a recipe from Lil' Luna!  Link HERE!  Very good!
