Thanksgiving Fun!

One of my favorite traditions.  I love going to the Ethel M Cactus Garden's all decorated for Christmas. There is nothing like it.  This year they gave out chocolate covered caramels.  Oh heavens, that was awesome.  One thing I love about the gardens is that they are free.  You just walk around and enjoy the lights.  They are so pretty and peaceful. The best part is going with our friends, the Albright's!  It is fun to be with our friends.

After that we went to the Bellagio Gardens.  They are always wonderful and pretty!

Deck The Halls!

The day after Thanksgiving we decorate our house.  Actually, for the first time ever, Don started to put the lights on the house before Thanksgiving.  Oh how crazy is he.  Well, we had the week off from school, so he got a jump on it.  The lights on the house didn't go on until after Thanksgiving.  Tradition still stands!  So after Thanksgiving, we got to decorating the inside.  Our poor tree isn't prelit anymore.  I think we are going to trash it after Christmas and buy ourselves a new one next year.  So this is the last time for this tree!  First ornaments on the tree were the ones that the kids received this year.

What was hard this year was that we had to pack away Zach and Austin's ornaments and give them to them.  Yes, they are married, and all of the ornaments I have collected for them over the years for them are now theirs.  It was hard to give them away.  I don't think anyone in the family knew how I was feeling or they did, but didn't want to talk to me about it.  Sometimes these milestones are hard to take.  I hope they love their ornaments.  They were carefully chosen for them to represent what was going on in their life.  Now, hopefully they will be on their tree!

Thanksgiving 2016

Thanksgiving time.  This year we had Aubrey come home from college and Austin and Bree come to from college too.  We were excited to have them here.  It was so great having them home from college.  Zachery and Hailey stayed in Rexburg to relax and spend Thanksgiving alone.  This semester has kicked Zachery's butt.  I don't blame him for wanting to rest.  We spent the night before Thanksgiving baking and playing board games.  I love that Aubrey is sitting there doing homework!

Thanksgiving morning the guys went the Ward (congregation) Turkey Bowl.  They loved playing football. It is always fun.

When they got home, it was time to put the turkey in the oven.  Don was excited for me to take pictures of him with the turkey!

Then dinner was ready.  I think it came out good this year.

After dinner we went to a movie and saw Fantastic Beasts.  It was pretty good.  Then we went home to eat pie and have a Nerf Gun war.  We love to have Nerf Gun wars. It was fun.

I think Thanksgiving went well. I am very grateful for all my blessings. I am so grateful to be here on this earth and spending this holiday with family.  I was grateful to be feeling good.  It was so nice and a wonderful holiday.

The next day I went shopping with Rachel and Aubrey.  Yeah, Black Friday. It was so fun.
