On this day we went back to New Haven because Austin wanted to take a tour of the Center Church Crypts. It is spooky, but interesting. My Uncle has never been on that tour, so he decided to spend the day with us. While we were waiting we had our picture taken by some tourist from Korea. Really? Why does this always happen to us? My teenage boys had a ton of tourist (teenage girls) asking for pictures with them. Crazy! We finally went in. This is known as Connecticut's best kept secret. When New Haven was founded the green was a cemetery. When they built this new church, they moved some of the cemetery, but left some of it under the church. It is strange, but it is there. Now before we went down to the Crypt the lady giving us the tour said it was so hot down there. We started to stress. It was horrible outside, so how hot can it be. "Hotter than Hades!" she said. Oh man, this wasn't going to be fun. I kept thinking, "Why is it so hot? Isn't this in the basement?" Well folks, it was nice in cool. I don't know what this lady is thinking. We are from Vegas, we know hot!

Here is the crypt. Strange huh?

Then we went to the New Haven Stake Pioneer Day celebration. This dear sweet lady taught my kids how to eat "steamers". They liked them. They had the best food at this activity. It was awesome!!!!

We also went and saw the track at Johnathan Law High School named for my Uncle. He has been coaching for over 20 years and is still coaching girls track. He inspired me to take up running. My Uncle still runs every day. He is an awesome person, and we just love him. I love how he had to stand on the
Schulte side!!!

Running on the track.

Then it was low tide, so we walked out to Charles Island. It was fun to do. I think the kids enjoyed it. It is
definitely a Connecticut thing to do.

This is what is all over the beaches in Connecticut. Tons of shells.
