Week Day Update.

Don's cousin sent us this cool Alabama magnet for the car.  The guys decided to put it on my car, since this is the car Ian will drive.
I had bone treatment.  It just makes me super tired and it always stresses me out being in there.
Ian helped his friend with his Eagle Project.  He was the car the kids were not suppose to hit.
Fall came to Vegas!  I love this weather.  It is wonderful to run in it.
Zach and Hailey took fun pictures.
Happy Sunday!

Cross Country Update-UNLV Invitational

This week we went to the UNLV Invitational.  It was the perfect day for running.  It was nice and cool.  There may not be prayer in school, but there will always be prayer in cross country.

Ian did awesome.  He PR'd once again in the 5,000 meters getting a 19:46!  He gets better and better every time.  I am super proud of him and his dedication to his team.  The JV team came in second.  I think they will only get better as time goes on.

Weekly Update!

This week we had the craziest storm.  The lightening was insane.  (Pictures by Jake Kelsey)  I have never seen anything like it.  It looked like it was the end of the world.  I left and went to pick up Ian at the church and it wasn't even raining.  When I came back home it was like someone opened the skies and dumped all this water on us!  It was crazy.  I couldn't even see to drive.  It was short and fast moving, but intense too.

This week was homecoming week.  It is always fun at school during homecoming.  Ian's class had the best hallway and float.  The theme was classic Disney.  I was shocked to see what was considered, "classic".  I am old!
Of course we went to support Dance Fusion and Elaine's last time making the float!  It was super cute!!!

Unfortunately, we lost!  As always.  It was so sad.
Then the next day was I was driving Ian to meet the bus to go with the cross country team to California, I saw this sunset.  It was so pretty.  The weather is cooling off.  You can feel fall in the air!
I loved this quote because I have been doing genealogy and scanning pictures of my ancestors.  I can tell you that I really have felt a closeness to my family and ancestors.  I have such a testimony of this.  It was been so fun.
Happy Sunday!

Cross Country-Woodbury Invitational

This week the boys went to California to run.  This is a picture from another meet.  Ian had a good time with his friends.  He also PR'd again for the 3 miles.  He got an 18:10.  He told us he was just flying.  He was really happy with his time.

Cross Country Weekday Meet

This weeks meet was at Floyd Lamb Park.  They ran against Palo, Cimarron, Faith, and Shadow.  Unfortunately, no one was taking this meet seriously because they are headed to California this week to run.  Ian got at 20:55, not his best, but he really doesn't care.  He plans to PR in California.  None of Varsity ran this one, and even with that, they came in second.

Week in Review

This week it was rainy in Vegas.  I can't tell you how much I love that weather.  I even went back to running.  It is only two miles right now, but I am so grateful my hip feels good.  It just lightens my heart.  This weekend, Aubrey headed back to school.  Now that she is getting married, I worry about her finishing.  She promises me she will.  We drove with her and Christian to Provo and went wedding dress shopping.  Sure enough, she found what she was looking for.  I can't tell you what a wonderful experience it was.  Aubrey did a ton of research and wanted to go to Elizabeth Cooper Design's studio.  I wanted her to make another appointment, but she was sure she would find her dress there.  It was a tiny shop in American Fork.  The designer and her daughter were so helpful and kind to Aubrey.  They dressed her up and had her take her time deciding.  She went back and forth between two.  Honestly, she could of picked any of them and she would of looked beautiful.  She was stunning in all of them. What could Don and I say?  All we could say, was pick what you want!  There was no wrong choice.  After really considering it, she chose the first one.  The dress she knew, way before we got there, was the one.  It was the most wonderful experience.  The attention they gave her was wonderful, and their dresses are amazing.  Nothing was bad.  Just stunning.  I can't say enough about it.  So yes, she said, "Yes, to the dress!"
After that we went to Krispy Cream Donuts.  Aubrey was fascinated that you could watch the donuts being made!
Happy Sunday!

Cross Country- Larry Burgess-Las Vegas Invitational

We missed this meet this week.  Austin and Bree went and said the weather was perfect!  Overcast, raining, and cool.  Perfect.  Once I heard that, I knew Ian was going to crush it!  Sure enough he did.  Once again, he PR'd in the 3 mile with a time of 19:06.  Crazy, he took one minute off his previous time.  The team came in 6th for the Freshman and Sophomores.  That isn't too good, but I only really care about Ian's time.  I wasn't at the meet, but my friend Debbie took some pictures of Ian.  I really appreciated that.

Labor Day Adventures!

This month the High Roller offered educators a chance to ride for free.  They also offered family and friends half price off.  So of course we took the opportunity to go on it.  It was an awesome deal.  The High Roller is a 550 foot tall, 520-foot diameter giant Ferris Wheel.  It is the world's largest Ferris Wheel that eclipses both the London Eye and the Singapore Flyer.  It takes thirty minutes to complete one revolution.  With that being said, it is hard to believe that I actually went on this.  I am totally afraid of heights, so this was crazy.  At first I wouldn't even get up out of my seat, but then I got used to it.  It really isn't bad at all.  You don't even feel it moving.  The views are amazing.  We even got a picture of our part of the valley.  Bree was at work so Austin went with us.  It was really neat.  Now I want to go at night.
