Beatle's Love!

When our boys earned their Eagle Scout Award, we let them pick a show on the strip that they wanted to see and took them to it.  They both choose Blue Man Group.  Yes, some people tell their kids they can get their driver's licence, but that wouldn't work in our house.  Our kids get their Eagle when they are 14, so that means nothing to them.  When Aubrey earned her Young Women's Medallion she was able to choose a show to go to.  She wanted to go to Beatle's Love.  Don went and got Aubrey and me our tickets.  I got to go with her because I worked with her on this award.  She was so excited to see this show.  She is a huge Beatle's fan!  Aubrey found a t-shirt at the gift shop that she fell in love with.  I just had to get it for her.  Then we went to the Sugar Factory to pick up so treats before the show.  We weren't even 5 minutes into the show and Aubrey leaned over to me and said, "This is tripping me out!"  At the end she told me, "I don't want this night to end!"  She loved it.  Beatle's Love has a lot of dancing in it.  Aubrey loved all the dancing.  So pretty.  In fact, there are a few dancers in the show who used to dance at the studio Aubrey dances at.  That was fun to see them!  It was a great night and I am so thankful that I was able to see that with her.  It was great to talk and just be together.  I am treasuring these moments with her.  I am glad she had such a special night!
This was one of her favorite parts of the show!

Who's Going To Sadie's?

Oh, it is that time of year.  The time when girls all over Vegas are on the prowl for their Sadie's dates!  So while Austin was at Rugby practise, his girlfriend came over and asked him to Sadie's.  She is the girl on the left.
They filled his room with balloons.
When he came home he found this note.  He had to pop the balloons to get the letters to spell out the big question.
Here is Austin popping the balloons.
So now the big question is, how is he going to answer her.

Roll Tide!!!!

It was a rough day for us.  Don and Austin were sick today and stayed home from school.  Oh boy, I am looking forward to this going through the house!  Anyway, they were kind of in a sad mood all day.  This kind of concerned me.  This was not a good way to start the day of the big LSU vs. Alabama game!  The National Championships!  So when everyone sat down to watch the game I thought to myself, this could be a really bad night or lift every one's spirits!  Notice Don's Dr. Pepper! So funny!
As they watched the game, it turned out to be a very happy day for the guys in my life!  Yep, Alabama wiped out LSU.  21-0!!!  The day ended good!
Many people have asked us why we cheer for Alabama.  Don's dad is from Alabama.  Don was just raised to love Alabama football.  No, he didn't just jump on the band wagon.  He has always been a fan.  Therefore, we all cheer for Alabama football.  I learned this the hard way.  That is another story for another time!
The conversation I had with Ian this morning as he got out of the car to go to school:
Ian:  Roll Tide mom.
Me: Ian we don't live in Alabama.
Ian: It's Bama nation mom!
Ian:  Roll Tide!
Me:  Roll Tide!
Ian:  I like that!

The Story Of Ian's Bike!

Here is the story.  We got Ian a new bike for his birthday.  He really wanted a new one.  Don wanted to buy him a mountain bike. So we looked and looked.  We found a good one for him.  Well, it will be good for him in a year or two.  Don thought it would be fine, but if you look at this picture you can tell that the bike we got for Ian is way too big for him.  Bummer.
After talking to Ian he finally told us that he just wanted a street bike.  Something he could just ride around.  So we went back to the store and got him this one.  Boy he was so excited for it.  It is such a nice bike!  It is red, just like Alabama colors.  Yes, that is important to Ian.  Ian loves his new bike.  It is perfect for him.  Sorry Don, the mountain bike is going to have to wait.

Happy New Year!

Well we said to good-bye to 2011 in Vegas style.....NOT!  Austin had a rocking new year!  You know, the lame church dance, fun party, and a yummy breakfast!  I love how he wore his bow tie.  He always has his own style!
Don and I had all the kids who are too young to go out and party.  I actually enjoyed it.  It was fun to be with them and have fun.  They are the cutest kids, and I think Don and I really enjoyed the company.  We had a lot of laughs. The kids played games.
We did a little Fruit Ninja.  Oh my gosh, Ethan is the funniest at this game.  He goes crazy while he plays!  It is great.
You know we had to dance.  We love to dance! Once again, Ethan stole the show!
Then the kids turned on the T.V. and waited for midnight.
They had their countdown and toasted with their sparkling cider in French crystal.  It was so funny to hear them talk.  They were so excited for the New Year.  Remember being that young and thinking how exciting New Years was???   It was so cute.  Then after they toasted, they ran upstairs to watch the fireworks from our bedroom window.  They were amazing as always.  We had our windows opened and you could see and  hear all the fireworks all over town.  You could also hear all of the horns people were blowing.
So the girls wanted to join in.  They got out Austin's vuvuzelas and blew those out the window.  Then on the way home, they kept on blowing them.  I am sure everyone heard them welcome in the New Year.  It was a fun night.
I am glad to say good-bye to 2011.  It was kind of a rough year for me, and I am ready to start over!  I love making new goals and working on new things.  It is so exciting for me.  So, here we go!  Happy New Year, may it be a good one!
