Ice Box Canyon

On President's Day, we decided to take the missionaries for a hike.  It was their Preparation Day, so we thought it would be fun to show them some local sites.  What better place to go site seeing with missionaries.....Red Rock Canyon.  I had seen pictures of this hike before.  Aubrey has a friend who loves to hike Ice Box Canyon.  It looked like fun.  It also had water, and that always interests me.  Finding water in the desert interests me.  It was 70 degrees out and a perfect day to hike.  The trail takes you through a cool, shady box canyon with seasonal waterfalls in the heart of Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area. The narrow canyon rarely sees sunlight, and the cool water and air pouring down from the mountains keep it significantly cooler than the open desert. It was a ton of fun, and we love spending time with the missionaries.  Who said Las Vegas isn't pretty?

Dance Fusion in Disney!

We went to Disney to see these lovely girls dance!!  The dance team goes to Disney to take a class from one of their choreographers.  Then they perform a show that the girls put together.  They got the same choreographer from last year.  They love him!!!  Aubrey loves the class.  She gets so much out of it.  It is worth it.  Then the girls get to spend a ton of time in Disney.  I think that is the best part for them.  We got to see Aubrey a little bit.  She was very busy with the team.  It was a great weekend.

Aubrey choreographed a dance to the song Lets Go Fly A Kite.  It was so great.  There was a little problem with  the prop, but it went awesome!  We were so proud.

Disneyland!

This week we went to Disneyland.  Aubrey's dance team was performing there and we were able to go.  Don and I decided to invite Zachery to go because he is off for the semester.  He decided to come along and we were so excited to have him with us.  It was great to have him there.  When I had younger children I always felt so frantic trying to go and see all the princesses and hit every ride.  Now it is so easy, because the kids know what they want to go on and do.  We basically follow their lead.  That meant I had a ton of pictures of them on rides!  Disneyland and California Adventure had a lot of rides closed down, but we did get to go on a few of our favorites!  I even went on Screaming.  I hate that roller coaster, but I tried it again and I think I liked it.  It wasn't so bad.

Zach said he could spend all day on Space Mountain and Star Tours.  He loves it so much.  You can tell by the pictures how much we love it.

For years Ian was too short to go on Indiana Jones.  Then he was the right height, but every time we went to Disney the ride was broken or down for repairs!  Then finally, this weekend, Ian got to go on Indiana Jones for the first time!!!  We were super excited! It was worth the wait.  Ian loved the ride!

People started to get all worried about the punching pictures. I had to assure people that they were all staged!
The Frozen part of California Adventure was amazing.  We loved it.

Sometimes you need a churro break!  Oh yeah, it is always good at Disney!
It was a wonderful Valentine's Day at Disneyland.  I can't think of a better way to spend it with my guys
