This year for Halloween we went to our friends ward for their Ward Party and Trunk-or-Treat. We had so much fun. We used to be in that ward, so all of the kid's friends are there. That is what the kids want to do. They want to spend time with their friends. This year Austin went as a "Cereal Killer" (Get it? His cereal boxes have plastic knives in them.), Aubrey went as Glinda from Wicked, and Ian was Indiana Jones. They look pretty good!

Carving Pumpkins
Cross Country Update
Today was Regionals! We are happy to announce that the Girls and Boys Cross Country Team at CHS will be going to state!!!! They won the meet. Now it is on to State. Oh no! Here comes the North!
Here is the bad news. Yesterday Zachery found out that he was bumped to become an alternate. We don't know why. Zachery is faster than the boy who replaced him. He was so sad. It's ok. Here is Zachery and the team watching the Sunrise Division run. He is in the striped sweatshirt.
You all know that I am still experimenting with my camera. Well, this is the picture I caught while trying out some features of my camera. This is one of our runners winning the race and this little girl ran out on the course, at the finish line! What is funny about this picture is that one of the coaches from CHS just spent all of her time and energy running up and down this area telling everyone to stay off the course. Ooops!
This is another reason we went to Regionals! We had to cheer on Scott! He did great today. I will let his parents blog about that. We just love him, he is a great friend to Zach. Congrats Scott! (He is the CHS runner on the right.)Survivor Gabon Week 6
Well, Aubrey lost Dan this week and Austin lost Ace. Quite a few surprises this week. We loved it.

Austin, Austin, Austin
A couple of years ago Austin did this to Aubrey. I didn't have a digital camera then, so I didn't get a picture. Well, the other day this is how I found Ian. Believe me, Ian wasn't too upset.

Picking Pumpkins?
This is the time of year I miss Connecticut! This is not normal. I am use to picking my pumpkins at Bishop Farms in Cheshire, CT. That is what I grew up doing. My poor children have never had that experience. Yes, there are man-made pumpkin patches set up for children in Las Vegas, but they are very pricey! So, what do we do???? We head to the Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market. This year I took my camera, to capture the moment!

The Force
Today the soccer team did wonderful. We lost to this team before, so we were worried going into this one. Well, we killed them today. We won 5-0. They did so good. The best part was seeing the team really come together. They pass now, and work so well together. It is amazing. They have learned so much this year. Ian did great. He played offense, defense, and goalie. He made some great saves. I posted some pictures because the school Don works for wants pictures of the administrators doing something other than their jobs for the year book. Let me know which one you think is good for the yearbook. I wanted to take a picture of Don playing video games, but he wouldn't do it!

High School Musical 3
Hi! This is Aubrey! Yes, I saw High School Musical 3. I saw it with my BFFs. [best friends forever] The Albrights, the Bensons, the Ales, and the Wingates. It's like the most AWESOME movie in the whole world! Yes, there was a little screaming. Okay, their was a lot of screaming. Troy takes off his shirt with his back to us and the girls are like, ''turn around!'' I'm like ''HECK NO!'' The music was WICKED AWESOME! Your probably wondering why I'm with Lucus/Ryan and not with Troy/Zach Efron. 1.Lucus is cute 2. Zach Efron is ugly. Mom thinks he's cute. Excuse me while I puke, BLAGH! After that my friends and I went to the ''Golden Spoon'' and we got ice cream. I have to say ''Cold Stone" is better.

Survivor Gabon Week 5
I lost Kelly this week! Man, I am almost out. I haven't watched the show yet, so I really have no comment on it!
New Adventures
This week I started substitute teaching. Yes, I haven't worked in 17 years. I know I did child care for a while, but I really don't count that as a real job. I loved it, it was good for me. With the kids back to school, I wanted to do something that still let me be flexible and substitute teaching seemed perfect for me. So this week was my first job. I was so lucky to work at the kid's elementary school. This way the kids just went to work with me. It was perfect. Also, I love that school and felt very comfortable there. I had to work with a fourth grade class, and they were perfect. No problem at all. The next day Don came home with two dozen roses for me to congratulate me on my first substitute assignment. Aren't they pretty? It was a wonderful surprise. Don and I also voted this week. I love early voting! I just wish that the second you voted there was something to stop all the junk mail and phone calls that have to do with election day. That would be even better!Monday, October 20, 2008
We Are So Excited!
Check out Ian and Aubrey! Aubrey already has her tickets for Friday night! Pause the music to watch it!

Court of Honor
Today we had a Court of Honor for the scouts in our ward. Don had the Court of Honor in this little park. We had a family picnic and then the Court of Honor began. Here is a picture of Don giving the scouting minute to all of the boys who are Life Scouts. Their next step is Eagle.
Cross Country Update
Today was the Northwest Divisions. CHS won both boys and girls. Poor Zach was fighting a cold. He did pretty good for not feeling to good. It was a 3 mile course and his time was 18:16. Not bad for someone who couldn't breathe that good today. At least he has a whole week of no meets to get himself feeling better. Regionals are up next!Survivor Gabon Week 4
I had GC. So, I am out one person. I really don't care because that guy was getting on my nerves.
Arts and Crafts Day
Austin has been really working hard at school lately. He had to do a huge research project on Hermes (Greek God). Along with the research project he had to do an art project on the same god. So he made the golden winged sandals that this god wore. Austin was very proud of his project and asked me to take a picture and put it on the blog.
