Flag Football Update

This Saturday Don and I woke up early and headed off to the temple.  When we came out of the temple I saw that I had a missed phone call from home.  When I called the house I learned that Ian had thrown up all of the kitchen!  Also, I found out that Aubrey didn't know what to do.  She was having a hard time cleaning it up.  Let's just say, it was great to come home from the temple and clean up throw-up.  All over my kitchen.  This prompted a lecture on how to clean up throw-up and how to make it to the bathroom when we feel sick.  Honestly, did Ian just run around the island in the kitchen and throw-up?  It looked that way!  We didn't know if Ian was sick and if he could play football.  Ian felt fine.  He has had a cough for a while and I wonder if he was coughing and just threw-up.  Anyway by the time the game came, he was fine.
I love this picture.  Check out our coach's shirt.  Anybody that knows our coach knows he is not that kind of guy!  This is funny.  I love how intensely Ian is listening to him.
Ian had an awesome game.  They won.  He even made a touch down.  I missed it because I was dropping Aubrey off at a party.  Don was there at the game and he was talking to the ref and missed the touchdown too!  Great parent moment!  Ian's team won.  They killed them.  I think the score was 19-0.

Flag Football Update

Today, Ian's team lost.  It was a hard lost.  They really tried hard!  It was hard because this team was mostly made up of 15 and 16 year old.  It had to be frustrating to try your best, and it didn't matter.  They just couldn't deal with the height of these boys.  Ian still made some good plays.

He even caught the ball, but lost his glasses.

Quote of the day came from Aubrey: "If you are 15 or 16 years old, it is time to put on your big girl panties and go to tackle football!"

Sometimes We Go To Football Games Just For The Half-Time Show!

Last night we went to CHS football game.  Dance Fusion was performing during the half time, so of course we went to support!  These girls had some pressure on them.  The student body went to another school to watch a football game and that school's dance team performed.  Let's just say, it was a little different choreography.  Yeah lets just say (In a nice way.), Don would never let Aubrey dance that way!!!  (Got it.)  Then that school had some students and vandalize our school.  I will never understand why, if you beat our school in football, why vandalize our school?  So some of the student body at our school was saying, "At least our dance team is classy and can dance!"  The girls felt the pressure, to put on a good show.  Believe me, these girls were ready!
Here is Aubrey sitting with the team before the game.  I love that, "Dad really???" look.  Come on, your our daughter!  When have we NOT taken a ton of pictures???  You grew up with it.

So far, it has been an awesome year.  I ask Aubrey how it is going and she always says, "If there is drama, I don't know anything about it!"  I am also impressed with their coach.  She is really good with the girls.  I love how she is always reminding them how to act and conduct themselves!  Don and I really like her.

Our Home Teacher is number 57.  It was fun to watch him play.  (Home teaching is the responsibility of all Melchizedek Priesthood holders and of those who are teachers and priests in the Aaronic Priesthood. As part of their responsibility to watch over the members of the Church, home teachers visit their assigned families at least once each month to teach and strengthen them. Home teachers establish a relationship of trust with these families so that the families can call upon them in times of need.)
The moon was amazing last night.  This picture does not do it justice!
Then our team took the field.  This is the first time I have seen them perform!  I was blown away!  They looked so professional!  Their formations were perfect!  They were amazing.  When Aubrey and talked about this performance, I told her, "Most people will not even watch.  They will be getting food and using the bathrooms."  Uh, no!  Everybody stayed and watched them.  The crowd cheered and sang along!  It was awesome.  She is the second one in the back on the left..

It was a great night!  The girls worked hard and it showed.  Centennial won the game 40-7. So, we celebrated with some Yogurtland!

Flag Football Season Is Here!

Yes, we are back at it.  This year, Ian's team is in the senior division.  It is a little stressful for them because for years they were the oldest in their division and now they are the youngest.  So they went to this game a little nervous.  They just didn't know what to expect.  Also, they haven't had a lot of practice because of all the rain we have had.  In fact as they played this game, there was a huge thunderstorm off in the distance.  Pretty to watch while football was going on, but it made me nervous!  Can't we get hit by lightening?  Also, this year we are playing in the fields that are located in the retention basin.  In Vegas, we have retention basins built to help divert flood water when it rains.  Well, when they build these retention basins, they also build fields for sports in them.  We have some by our house that are really nice softball fields.  Our regular fields are being redone, so we went to the soccer fields in the retention basins.  The grass was still nice and green because of all the rain, so it was nice.  Still, with a storm in the distance and warning signs around you saying, "Get out if it begins to rain!", you still get nervous!  Ian is playing center again.  He isn't too pleased about it.  He is open all the time and no one throws him the ball.  It is frustrating for him.

They had a good game.  They won!!!  Ian did really good, and played great defense too!  I think this was good for them.  They were nervous being in a new division, so it was good for them to feel like they can play against the bigger kids.  It was a good boost for them.

Ch-Ch-Ch- Changes

Zach has been counting down the days!  He left for college this morning.  He is so happy to go back to school and get into the swing of things.  Back to his life.  It was wonderful having all of our children at home this summer.  It might be the last time we have all of them living with us for a summer.  Who knows.  It is so hard having our older boys gone, but they are doing wonderful things so we can't be sad.  Poor Ian, he is really struggling.  He feels like they both left him and now he is stuck with Aubrey.  (It isn't that bad!)  Grandpa and Grandma Brasier took Zach's college stuff back to Idaho when they were down in Vegas for Austin's farewell.  So Zach just had to pack one suitcase and we flew him up to Idaho Falls.  It is cheaper for us that way.  Don's brother Doug will pick him up and get him settled in his apartment.  We are so blessed that we have family there in Idaho to help him.

After Don left to take Aubrey to seminary and Zach to the airport, I went up to the boys room.  It looked so empty.  Sad.  I think Ian and Don have some plans!

First Dance Fusion Performance

Aubrey had her first performance with Dance Fusion!  They performed for the open house.  I couldn't go because I just had another surgery.  I was bummed.  I have never missed her dance performances.  I will get to see it at the football game.  Once again, Dad went and was the perfect dance Dad.  He even took pictures and went to a dance parent meeting!
A couple of years ago she had to wear a bump-it in her hair for her other team.  We hated it!  We really thought we would never have to wear that again!  Well, we were wrong!  The alien head is back!  Good thing we didn't throw out that bump-it!
It always makes me laugh when I see her wearing CHS stuff that is blue.  I went to CHS in Connecticut and our colors were red and white.
Don said they did good, but that their music was messed up.  I am sure it didn't make their teacher happy!  I can't wait to see them dance at the football game!  It will be fun!
