Happy Halloween!

This year Austin wore his formal wear morph suit, Ian was a character from the SNL skit Laser Cats, (If you don't know it, go on youtube if you must to see a clip!), and Aubrey was a crazy Star Wars fan.
We never are around to trick-or-treat our neighborhood, but today we were.  Here is Don getting ready to go out and trick-or-treat!
People  in Vegas really get  into Halloween!  This is just one house in our neighborhood!
It was a great night.  I really enjoyed sitting at home with Austin passing out candy and watching Ghost Hunters.  It was great to just sit and talk with him.  I am cherishing those moments with him!

Favorite Family Activity!

We love to carve pumpkins!!!!  We take it very seriously!!!!
Poor Don, he is always the last man standing!
Here they are finished! The family is standing near the pumpkins they carved.
There they are all lit up!
Then we finished the night by eating cannoli and watching Amazing Race.  It was a perfect Sunday!

Party, Party, Party!

This weekend was crazy.  Crazy fun!  We had a couple of Halloween parties to attend.  First we went to our ward (church) party.  The kids loved going trunk-or-treating and hanging out with their friends.
Aubrey hanging out with her fans!
These are a few of Aubrey's friends.
No judgement people!!!
Then our friends invited us to their ward party!!!!  Oh my gosh, that party was a blast.  We loved it.  Their ward did an amazing job.  The food was perfect.  They even had a chili that I could eat!
Here is Ian and Ethan A.  They look awesome!
Their ward had all of  these fun games to play!  Check it out!
I love that Aubrey went to work and helped her friend run some of the games.  She did so good.  She loved working with the kids!
Here is Aubrey with her friends!  We love Rachel A. and Allie A.!
At this party, Don gave out the candy to the kids during the truck-or-treat!  The kids were so cute!  It was great to see all of the wonderful costumes!
People always ask Aubrey and this girl if they are cousins.  After always telling people no, they gave up and now tell people that they are cousins.  I guess that is fine, because Austin has a twin that he wasn't raised with.  Yes, his friend Lindsey and him went through this too.  After denying it all the time, they finally let people know that indeed, they are twins.
After this party the kids wanted  to go to the Anderson's house to go through their haunted house.  This family always lets their sons do a haunted house in their garage.
This is a picture of the girls getting ready to go into the house.  Lets just say that we could hear them screaming all the way outside in the backyard!  I don't think the girls took a breath.  Don, me, and the Anderson's were laughing so hard!!!!  The best part is when one of the boys running the haunted house came out of it and said they needed some time to set up the walls again.  I guess our girls knocked over a couple of walls  while they were screaming their lungs out!  You got to love them!

Happy Birthday Nevada!

Well, it really isn't Nevada's birthday until Monday, but the kids were off from school today to celebrate it!  So, we decided as a family to head to the mountains to go on a hike.  We were told it would be too cold, there were be snow on the ground, and all sorts of things.  Well, we went to the mountains anyway, and it was a beautiful and warm day on the mountain.  It was just right, nice and cool.  A perfect fall day.  This hike was perfect too.  It was so pretty and so much fun.  The kids loved it.  As we all know, I get very homesick during this time of year.  I just miss home and all of the pretty fall colors.  This hike did me good.  It was great to see some of the leaves turning and breathe in some nice cool air.  I have to give a big shout to our friends, the DeMarcos!!!!  They recommended this little hike, and they were right.  It  was wonderful!  Thanks guys!
Some pretty fall colors.  Don thinks that if we came up a month earlier it would be really pretty.  Maybe next year we can time it right.
Yes, we did see some snow!
We found this really cool place with all this moss.  The moss was dripping with water.  It was so cool.
This was so cool too.  It was neat to see this rock and see how the water made this  perfect water spout.  To see this kind of erosion was really neat.
Austin and Don went a bit higher in the canyon.  It was really high up there.  It was funny to hear Don asked Austin to guide him down.  We were laughing about that!
See how narrow the canyon got?
The kids took a break and then we headed back to the car.  I just love Aubrey's Pringle lips!
It was a really nice spend some time with the kids!  It was a great day!
