So another year comes to and end tonight.  What a year it has been.  When 2011 was ending I was looking forward to 2012.  I was ready for 2011 to end.  I had gone through a bit of an depression, and I was ready to start over!!!  At first 2012 started off great.  The first six months were amazing.  Then my world fell apart.  I have made it through this year and I have decided that 2013 will be wonderful.  Yep, I am putting it out there!  My family and the Brasier family have two graduations from high school, one missionary coming home, another missionary serving, one missionary going out on a mission, baptisms, and maybe a wedding ;)!  It will be a good year.  I am also going to reclaim my body!  It has been through a lot, and now is the time to get it together!  Time to remove the cancer for good and get healthy and in shape again.  It will be a battle, but one I am sure I will win.  So, good-bye 2012!  Here's to 2013, and getting it right this year!

Happy Birthday Ian!

Today was Ian's 11th birthday!  It is so hard to believe that he is 11 years old.  I remember having him like yesterday.  I thought we were done having children when we had Aubrey, but Don felt like we needed one more.  He was right, and 3 1/2 years later Ian came along.  My pregnancy was calm with him.  Nothing new or unusual.  He was due January 2 but because our insurance was changing at the new year,  my doctor decided to induce me on December 28.  It was a blessing this happened.  Poor little Ian was in distress and we had no idea.  The cord wrapped around his neck and he had to be revived when he was born.  My poor little baby had a bruise that went around his whole neck.  It was horrible.  I also have O negative blood.  No problem.  I just go and get shots while I am pregnant and after the baby is born.  The shots are suppose to protect my babies from my blood, but poor Ian, the shots didn't work.  My blood passed into his blood and he started to build up antibodies.  So one day, while I was in the hospital, the nurses came rushing in the room and took my baby away to the nursery for sick babies.  Not the one for seriously sick babies, but a lower level nursery for sick babies.  It was so scary. Unfortunately, I had to leave the hospital without my baby.  I spent two nights sleeping in the waiting room, nursing him every four hours, but on the third night the nurses convinced Don to take me home to get some real sleep.  I was not a happy mommy!  I went home on New Years Eve and cried.  Our children never, ever slept in the same room with us.  Don believed that they had their own room, and that is where they needed to sleep.  When I went home that night I saw that Don had borrowed my girlfriend's bassinet and set it up in our room.  He told me that after everything we had been through with this baby, there is no way he was going to separate us when he came home.  On that New Year's Eve, I snuggled up with Zach, Austin, and Aubrey and just prayed that Ian would come home soon.  The next morning, New Year's Day I got a call from the hospital.  They told me my baby was doing good enough to come home, and I should come and get him.  We ran to the hospital!  The nurses were running around and trying to get us ready to go. Don had called the insurance agency to make sure we had everything set up and could have the special lights he needed at home.  I was so happy to get my sweet baby home!  Ian's start in this world was rough, but he has been the most wonderful blessing to my life.  He is just so sweet and innocent.  He is a little ray of sunshine and light in our lives.  I can't believe he is 11 years old.  Time flies by.  Today Ian got his favorite ice cream sandwich cake.  We will plan a friends party later.

Christmas Day!

Ian woke us up at 6:30 am.  We got up and opened the gifts.  The kids said it was the best Christmas ever.  I worried about that this year.  Things have been rough with me being sick and all, but it was an awesome day.  So relaxing.  We just enjoyed being together.  We played games, ate too much, and watched movies.  We loved talking to our family.  It was a good Christmas for us.

Keeping Busy On Christmas Eve!

We decided to go down to the strip and see the decorations.  We went the the Bellagio to see the gardens.  Once again, they were pretty!  It was super crowded on the strip this year, but we could handle it.

Everyone seemed to be in the Christmas Spirit, even Darth Vader!
The kids love going to Aria and taking a ton of crazy pictures.  They love the architecture!  Here is Vegas's idea of a snowman??

This dragon was made out of chocolate.  Even the flowers!  We were totally impressed.  It was done by Jean-Philippe Patisserie who also created the worlds largest chocolate fountain in Las Vegas.

After that, we went ice skating with the Albrights.

We all had so much fun.  Unfortunately a figure skater collided with Bishop Albright causing him to break a rib.  I can only hope they we still go next year!

You might be wondering why my children have bandannas on their arms in all of our pictures.  Well, there is a zombie vs. humans nerf war going on. Aubrey and Austin are humans.  While we were out we found out that there were some zombies waiting at our house to get them.  Don't worry, we were totally prepared and Aubrey and Austin got into the house just fine!!!
We then ate clam chowder in bread bowls, watched a movie, and got into our Christmas pj's.  We were so sleepy, we kind of fell asleep during Don's family home evening on Christmas.  We don't think we were being rude to Don because he fell asleep too!
We ended our night by talking to our favorite missionary from Russia.  It was great to talk to Zach!  He looks good and is very happy in Russia.  Unfortunately he hasn't got his Christmas box yet!  Hopefully he will get it for Russian Orthodox Christmas!  It was a great way to end the day!
